Hey SnapCo Family,

As we close out another transformative year at SnapCo, We want to personally thank you for standing with us in the fight for Black trans and queer liberation. Your generous support has been the foundation of so many achievements in 2024, and I’m excited to share some highlights with you.

This year, over 5,694 individuals signed the pledge to protect Black and trans lives. These signatures represent a powerful call for safety, equity, and justice.

We hosted our inaugural SnapCo Forever Gala where we brought together members, donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders for a night of celebration for our 11 year anniversary as an organization! This event raised $133,000 in sponsorships and ticket sales which went back into our mission of building safety for the Black trans and queer community.

SnapCo partnered with TransSocial to provide a Passport Clinic on Trans Day of Remembrance that helped 136 community members navigate name and gender marker changes. All costs associated with applications, fees, and photos were completely covered to ensure there were no barriers stopping our trans and queer family from obtaining vital documents that reflect their true identities.

Through our Taking Care of Our Own Fund (TCOOF), we provided 38 participants with case management, navigation services, and financial assistance for housing, rent, and medical needs. This fund is a lifeline for our community members when they need it most.

SnapCo also made its voice heard nationally. At the Gender Liberation March in Washington, D.C., Toni-Michelle inspired the crowd as a keynote speaker, alongside 42 of our community members. This collaboration with organizations like Gender Lib, Sister Song and Harriet’s Wildest Dreams amplified the fight for collective liberation.

Locally, our Post-Election Community Action Training (CAT) hosted with Center for Third World Organizing (CTWO)  equipped 36 participants with tools for action, and our Link’d Up event offered a safe space for growth and healing to over 45 organizations.

Thanks to your support, we’ve grown from 75 to 115 members, tripled our organizational partnerships, and solidified connections with groups serving Black queer and trans communities across Atlanta. In 2024, we’ve embodied our mission in ways unimaginable. Our work, our collective passions, and commitment toward gender justice and building community and people power is  alive and well.

Your commitment to our mission and protecting trans people makes this work worthwhile and we’re endlessly grateful. Let’s keep expanding our universe and  building this movement together in 2025.

We love you deeply,

The SnapCo Team
